Practical help after a bereavement.

We make the calls, with you and for you.

When someone dies, there are calls to make, accounts to sort out and documents to organise. Free online services can notify some organisations for you, but they cannot chase the account that never closed, deal with the council or HMRC, or complete the form still sitting on the table.

That is the part we do. We work through the agreed tasks with you, on the phone and in person, in plain English, and we keep going until each one is finished.

Confidential, professional support for families, with other administrative and benefit support available.

About Us

A personal service, built from personal experience.

Vallessa Solo, founder of Beyond Paperwork, seated at her desk

My name is Vallessa Solo, and Beyond Paperwork was created after seeing first-hand how difficult it can be to manage administration when circumstances change.

When my stepfather’s health declined, my mother became his full-time carer. There were benefits to apply for, forms to complete and practical matters to manage. I took on the paperwork, from benefit applications to everyday correspondence, so that she could focus on him.

Following his death, there was another long list of organisations to contact, accounts to sort out and papers to organise. I handled the calls and letters so that my mother had space to grieve. It showed me how much practical work falls to a family at an already difficult time.

Beyond Paperwork was created to provide the kind of practical support I would have wanted for my family: professional, discreet and personal.

That is what we offer today: clear, careful help with the administration after a death, and with later-life paperwork, from the first conversation onwards.

What makes us different

Free services notify. We chase.

There are free online services that tell organisations someone has died, and you should use them, they are genuinely useful. But a notification is only the beginning of the work, not the end of it.

What a free online service does

  • Notifies banks, insurers, utilities and telecoms in one go.
  • Sends the same notification to many organisations at once.
  • Gives you a list of who has been contacted.

Free, useful, and worth doing first.

What we do that it cannot

  • Make the calls, on the phone, with you and on your behalf.
  • Chase the account that never closed and the reply that never came.
  • Sit with you at the kitchen table, in plain English, until it is done.
